Conducting research involves administering experiments, often through computer-based tools. Numerous software programs allow for stimulus presentation and recording of participants' responses. It is up to each experimenter to choose the tool best suited to their needs, or simply to find the best compromise between efficiency, ease of use, and software cost. PsychoPy is an open-source software based on the Python language. It offers a valid alternative to programs such as MATLAB®, E-Prime®, or Presentation®. Created by scientists for scientists, this software allows the administration of various experiments in behavioral sciences (neuroscience, psychology, psychophysics, linguistics), offering flexibility and precision. Through its graphical user interface (GUI), PsychoPy makes it easier for non-experts in Python to program their experiments. The aim of the course is to introduce participants to the use of the software, describing its main features so that they can design, build, test, distribute, and manage practical experiments.
